Silvia Dusci, 29 years old, Founder and Creative Director of Le Sundial. You might now know her, but Silvia is the master mind behind the Nautilus Necklaces that we carry in our shop and webshop. In this interview she will share her favourite spots in Milan

What does a day look like for you?: During the week, I enjoy waking up early and having a leisurely breakfast with my favourite herbal infusion, and occasionally, boiled eggs with butter and jam (so Danish!). I then head out for appointments with artisans, and work from a relaxed bar while sipping an Americano. I spend a few hours walking around, which helps me think and find inspiration. In the evening, I cook with my partner while listening to music, and we unwind by catching up on our day - I love chatting with him!

What’s your wardrobe staples for an everyday outfit? For everyday outfits, my wardrobe staples include structured, tailored black or white pants, a soft cashmere sweater, and a high-quality t-shirt. I pair these with classic ballet flats or small heels and add a leather jacket or a cozy coat for a polished yet comfortable look.

Best spot for breakfast? And what are you ordering from the menu? My favourite spot for breakfast is definitely Marchesi, where you can soak up Milan's chic and historic atmosphere. If I have breakfast out, it’s usually a late one, so I indulge in delicious toast with a fresh orange juice.

What’s your go-to if you want to clear your head from thoughts? I love walking around the city, often for hours at a time. One place I particularly adore is Villa Necchi Campiglio; the atmosphere in the gardens is unique - it's a little slice of paradise away from the city's hustle and bustle.

You’re heading out for dinner with your friends directly after work, what would you add to your workwear outfit to spice it up? In the evening, I usually go for a total black look, often choosing midi pencil skirts with unique details or leather accents, or a sleek black dress that follows the silhouette. I pair these with a chic clutch and heels - though I love wearing heels, they’re not always practical during the day! I typically gather my hair and finish the look with a Parisian red lipstick.

Can you tell us your 2-3 favourite dining spots? I would say Giacomo Ristorante, my absolute favourite, Trattoria La Torre di Pisa for an Italian easy but chic dinner, and Sant'Ambroeus for an Italian dinner with a New York kind of vibe.

What book are you currently reading? The book I’m currently reading is The Unfinished Palazzo, recommended by a friend during a trip to Venice. It explores the lives of three fascinating residents—Luisa Casati, Doris Castlerosse, and Peggy Guggenheim—and their influence on the palace's transformation into a modern art museum, as well as their lasting impact on its legacy. It’s very interesting and captivating to read about these women and their incredible allure, set against the backdrop of the decadent and melancholic Venice of a past era.
